Masculine and Father's Day Cards

I've been working on a special card for my Dad and I think I finally made one that is suitable. My parents are very supportive of me. Anything I'm interested in or excited about they are sure to listen. Recently when I purchased the Tattered Time and Tradewinds paper... my Dad's comment was "Isn't there brighter papers you can buy?"  Like me he likes the cleaner look of things.. not super distressed or overdone. So bright and fun was the way to go.

I received an awesome bear stamp set from Aideen that I thought would be perfect for my Dad. I think of him as a big, cuddly, teddy bear.. when he's mad he's like a Grizzly .. Grrrrr.... :) After several attempts this is the card I made.

I used textured cardstock from the DCWV Lemon Flower paper stack and also a small piece of patterned paper. The sentiment is from the stamp set which says.. "Wishing you Fun & Happiness on your Special Day!" This is a cute card and I love the stamp set, but it just wasn't right for my Dad.

For another Father's Day card attempt I leaned torward the Tradewinds stack also from DCWV.

I used kraft cardstock as the base for this card and two patterns from the collection. I added a fun touch with screw top brads and some circle frames. This card isn't 100% done as I plan to add a sentiment on the right hand side with vellum. This again wasn't what I wanted to give my Dad for Father's Day.

When I received some new Bo Bunny papers from Aideen of course I was super excited to show my parents my new things. My Dad seemed to love the colors in the Gabrielle collection so .. walla.. that is what I used.

This is the card I will be giving my Dad for Father's Day! Although this card may seem somewhat feminine with the coral pink I think it's perfect for my Dad.

You can see that I did some double stamping with green ink and a sandy brown color.

I hand wrote the sentiment for this card. I don't particularly like my handwriting on things like this, but I don't have stamps with Father's Day sentiments. I also added a fun little touch to the envelope. I still have to write a sweet message inside and then it'll be ready to give away.

Thanks everyone for stopping by and leaving such wonderful comments!
