I've mentioned on a previous post that I was working on an album that's a little different for me. This an 8 1/2 by 11 photo album/journal made with the matstack DCWV Tradewinds Collection. I've never worked with an album this size or this exact style. It's been a lot of fun and I've really enjoyed it.
Here's a little sneak peak at the cover and some close up shots. The binding on this album is done the same way as my Tattered Time Mini Album.
I really like these 3 elements that you see here. To do this I punched out the paper with a 1 inch square punch, rounded the corners, and placed a brad in the center. I LOVE how the edges look burnt. I achieved this look by inking the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and Timber Brown Stazon. Then I adding a touch of Black Stazon on the very edge for deeper coloring.
Here's a peek at one of the inside pages. The black pieces are 4x6 photo mats. As you can see in the picture above, the papers have some gold foiling. I decided to add some additional gold embellishing with some gold embossing. You can see that in the pictures below. I really like flourishes so I had to add them to this book. I also used my script stamp on every page.
I used this stamp from a fairy set that Aideen gave me :D I stamped it 3 times here. I really like the look; it matches perfectly with everything else. I'm working on picking out my photos for this album now. I want this album to be a complete reflection of me; what I love, care about, and enjoy most. I plan for it to be expressed symbolically rather than coming right out and saying it.Once I have the album put together a little more I will do a post or video explaining more about it.
